Toy Stories

Who are the benefactors:

Memorial Hospital and Penrose Saint Francis Hospital —Wheels of a Dream team members deliver handcrafted wooden toys monthly to nurse(s) stations for distribution to children.

Colorado Springs Police Department—Our partnership with the Colorado Springs Police Department is very unique. We have committed 24 toys a month to be given to child victims, in partnership with the Safe Passage Program. Recently we challenged the Detectives to come to our woodworking shops and assist in building wooden toys. The goal: All toys you can build during this work session will be donated to CSPD. The detectives and volunteers exceeded every goal and produced 154 new toys. Detectives have toys available in vehicles for distribution to children in need.

Toys For Tots—The 29th Annual Toys for Tots Toy Run on October 2, 2016 was hosted by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve program. The goal was to collect new unwrapped toys during October, November and December to distribute to children less fortunate in our community. This year Wheels of a Dream donated 200 handcrafted wooden toys.  Two handcrafted cedar chests were built for auction to raise additional funds for Toys for Tots to purchase new toys
